Rio Olympian and Hills local, Michelle Jenneke is joining Western Sydney corporate heavyweights for this year’s Coleman Greig Corporate for Community Challenge, to be held in Parramatta on Friday 21st October.
It’s Michelle’s third year of involvement with the Challenge and she is excited to take on the role of Ambassador alongside 2016 Rio Paratriathlon Gold medal winner Katie Kelly, and two time World Champion Jana Pittman.
“This is my third year being part of the event and it is a great competition,” Michelle said.
“The comraderie from the business community of the west, coming together in support of local children is great to see.”
The recipients of funds raised from the Coleman Greig Challenge event are Castle Hill’s St Gabriel’s School for Children with Special Needs, the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children, and My Westmead.
The goal for 2016 is $150,000 with Coleman Greig Principal, Andrew Grima confident they’ll make their target.
“Having a young family has given me a much better appreciation of the fact that some children need to overcome bigger hurdles than others to lead the best life possible,” Andrew said.
“I believe that we can all make a positive difference and the Challenge gives businesses an easy, effective way to support the local community.”
“I love being part of an event which brings the community together and makes a difference to improve the lives of children with special needs and newborn care,” Michelle agreed.
There is still time for businesses to register, so Andrew and Michelle are encouraging businesses to sign up, spread the word and change lives.
Businesses can sign up as a Platinum or Gold sponsor, or enter a Corporate Team or as an Individual. The Challenge offers a range of walking, running and cycling options so there is an event category for everyone.
It’s a great opportunity to get fit, have fun and give back – all in one morning.
